5D TAIWAN - GIT

DAY 1          KUALA LUMPUR - HONG KONG - TAIWAN

After gathering at Airport, we will board our plane and depart for Taiwan.Taiwan lies on the western edge of the Pacific "rim of fire," and continuous tectonic movements have created majestic peaks, rolling hills and plains, coastlines, and other wonders. The cultural aspect of Taiwan is also something not to be missed as it is truly a melting pot of many cultures, with the most prominent aspect being its food. After our arrival at Taoyuan, we will be taken to the hotel to spend the night.

DAY 2          TAOYUAN - TAICHUNG                                                         ( B, L )
For the first destination of the day, you have 2 places to choose from: You may either try your hands at picking seasonal fruits(on own expense) or take a trip to the 17km Coastline Scenic Area. Focused on “Sightseeing leisure” and “Nature ecology”, it has many scenic areas which will offer you spectacular views of Taiwan’s beautiful ecology and geographical features. After that, we will go to Nanzhuang Old Street, well-known for its abundance of nature and unique food of the Hakka people and the aborigines. It also possesses a unique blend of Chinese and Japanese architecture along the streets, remnants from the time of the Japanese occupation. Then, we will make our way to Sanyi Village and visit its many attractions. The Sanyi Train Station which was built during the Japanese occupation without the use of a single nail. Also built during the Japanese occupation, the Longteng Broken Bridge was made entirely with red bricks and contains no steel structures at all. Sadly, most of it was destroyed by an earthquake and all that is left are the beams. Sanyi’sWood Carvings Street is also something not to be missed. The woodcarving industry has always been the main industry of Sanyi, with its artisans famed for their ability to make inanimate wood pieces “come to life”. This would be a good chance to acquire for youthis fine work of art. We will then head over to Taichung’s Rainbow Village. A small neighbourhood of 3 to 4 houses, they were given to war veterans as a sign of appreciation for their contributions. The paintings around the area are done by Grandpa Huang, who initially painted to curb his boredom but later on became a tourist attraction. The last destination of the day would be Fengjia Night Market, claimed to be the largest night market in Taiwan. Well known for its vibrant colours, dirt-cheap retail outlets and huge variety of street food, it is indeed a shopping paradise and a food haven for enthusiastic foodies. 
 
              

DAY 3         TAICHUNG - QINGJING                                                        (B /L / D)

For the first stop of the day, we will go enjoy the breathtaking sceneries of Sun Moon Lake, the only natural big lake in Taiwan. The southern part of Lalu Island is shaped like a new moon, and the northern part is shaped like a sun; hence the name. It is also divided into different parts with various themes, so you will definitely find something here that interests you. We will then pay a visit to the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village where we will learn more about the life, music and culture of Taiwan’s indigenous tribes. Once done, we will head over to see some special produce of the Shao tribe, such as antlers and Ganoderma. The Shao tribe is one of the aboriginal tribes of Taiwan and they live around the Sun Moon Lake. Numbering not more than 400 of them after the 921 earthquake, they still persevered and managed to preserve their culture to this day. We will then make our way to the PuliWinery, home to one of the eight national wines in Taiwan, the Shaoxing Rice Wine. Due to its climate and pure source of water, the Shaoxing wine in Puli is among the best of its kind with a bright yellow texture and unique fragrance. Our next stop, the Taiwan Geographical Centre Monument was built to mark the geographical centre of Taiwan. Although the point was shifted after China’s recovery of Taiwan, the monument is still held with regard and is fondly called The Heart of Taiwan”. After that, we will go to Taiwan Tea Garden.
 
              
 

DAY 4         CINGJING FARM - TAIPEI                                                      (B,L )
The first destination of the day would be the Green Green Grasslands, one of the main attractions of Qingjing Farm. Seeing the sheep walking around the undulating emerald green grass plains and the misty mountains at the back would make you feel as if you are in a Western country instead. After a brief stop at a bakery to buy some local pastries, we will then visit the National Palace Museum. It houses the world's largest collection of priceless Chinese art treasures, one which spans China's nearly 5,000-year history. Most of the museum's 620,000 art objects were part of the Chinese imperial collection which began over 1,000 years ago in the early Song dynasty. We will then be stooping by the Tianlu Wealth Shop, Shilin Night Market and a Cosmetics shop. Last but not least, we will go have a walk around Ximenting. It is the first ever pedestrian zone in Taiwan and one of its most happening shopping districts. You can find almost anything here, such as tattoo parlours and dirt-cheap retail outlets. Of course, the Taiwanese street food is something you thought not to miss. 
 
              

DAY 5         TAIWAN - KUALA LUMPUR                         (B)
Before we leave, you will have some time to do your last minute shopping at Ximenting and get something for your loved ones. Then, We will make our way to the airport and board a plane headed for our home sweet home – Malaysia, thus ending your 5 days Taiwan trip with Fantastic World Leisure Vacations Sdn Bhd.
