6D DANANG HOIAN HUE MYSON

Day 01        KUALA LUMPUR - DANANG - HUE                                      (D)
We will first assemble at KLIA before boarding a plane headed for our destination, Danang. The fourth-largest city in Vietnam, Danang is one of the most important seaports in the central region. Development is definitely booming in this bustling city, which serves as a convenient stop for those who plan to explore the other more scenic spots of Vietnam. Upon arrival, we will meet and greet with our tour guide, then make our way to Hue via the Hai Van Tunnels. You will have some free time to spend before having dinner.
Day 02        HUE - HOI AN                                                 (B/ L/ D)
After breakfast, we will board a traditional long tailed dragon boat and cruise along the Perfume River until we reach Thien Mu Pagoda. Standing tall on the northern banks of the Perfume River, the Thien Mu Pagoda has been around for more than 400 years. Among the many interesting artifacts housed at the complex is the car that took the monk Thich Quang Duc to his self-immolation in 1963. Once done, we will have a tour of the Hue Citadel. Built in 1832, it has 3 circles of ramparts and has more than 140 buildings within its compound. The Hue Citadel even has its own version of China’s Forbidden City, and was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. After lunch, we will visit the tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh. The emperor’s close relationship with the French can be seen even from the design of his tomb, as it features rather heavily the influence of Western architecture. Although it is not as big as the other royal tombs, it makes up for it with details in its architecture. A coup almost took place due to the high taxation and labour needed to build this tomb, but it was prevented with early detection. This will be followed by a visit to the Royal Tombs of Emperor Tu Duc. Constructed between 1864 and 1867, this tomb was designed by Emperor Tu Duc himself for both before and after his death. The emperor even included a tiny island where he used to hunt small game, and a pavilion where he would sit with his concubines, composing or reciting poetry. Once done, we will head back to Hoi An via the scenic Hai Van Mountain Pass.
Day 03       HOI AN                     (B/ L/ D)
After breakfast, we will have a walking tour of the Ancient City of Hoi An. Once a major Southeast Asian trading post in the 16th and 17th centuries, the seaside town Hoi An is basically a living museum, featuring a unique blend of East and West in the form of its old-town architecture. The traditional lifestyle, religions, customs and cooking have been well preserved, and many festivals still take place annually. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1999. We will first visit the Japanese bridge. First built by the Japanese in the 1590s, the entrances to the elegant bridge are guarded by weathered statues: a pair of monkeys on one side, a pair of dogs on the other. There is also a small shrine near the bridge which is dedicated to the goddess of weather. We will then go to the Hokkien Asociation, which used to be the place where the Hokkiens would gather for various occasions. Later on, it became a temple dedicated to the Chinese goddess of the sea, Mazu instead.

Since then, nature has reclaimed this land, creating mesmerizing sights of nature and manmade structures melded together.
